Hello sandy2080, Thank you for your question. When you are connecting to a database in Joomla, make sure you have created a database user first, then added them to the database. The host name should be 'localhost' unless you are connecting remotely to this server, in which case you would use the domain name. Then edit the following lines in the configuration.php file: // database username goes here public $user = 'database-username'; // database password goes here public $password = 'database-password'; // database server name public $host = 'localhost'; If you are performing a new installation, I recommend using Softaculous, as it simplifies the steps.
