Hello,

I have a domain bugs.example.com that has a script on it that uses the PHP Mailer. E-mails that are originating from the system are not reaching any address @example.com but are being routed fine to any other domain.

I could only guess that because I registered the domain on the host that it is trying to resolve the MX record for example.com locally and finds the wrong/no destination.

My question is, how can I disable the internal DNS for the domain example.com and resolve this issue?

Thanks.

Hello ,

Thank you for your question about email routing. It's important to remember that if you are using a third a party mail server, then the Email routing setting should be set to REMOTE MAIL EXCHANGER.

This is covered in our guide Email hosted by third party, website hosted at Web Hosting Hub. In the example they use google, but it explains how to set the email routing to Remote.

This will tell the server to look externally for the mail servers.

If you have any further questions, feel free to post them below.

Thank you,
John-Paul
