I have two domain names. Domain 1 used to be the default, and I changed it to Domain 2. I redirected Domain 1 (301) to Domain 2. I also changed the A record to the IP address of the shared hosting account (elsewhere). Google proceeded to recognize Domain 1 as the primary search result, and to show the primary website on the IP as the text. This is a complete mess. I went into Google Webmaster tools to change address, and it is telling me that it doesn't recognize the redirect. I tried deleting the IP address from the A record to no avail. Webhosting hub support have no idea why the redirect isn't working. Any ideas, anyone?

Hello,

Thank you for your question regarding Google seeing the wrong domain. Google crawls websites at their own rate, so they may not notice changes to your website immediately. You can submit your website for reconsideration at Google, which can often fix these types of issues.

We are happy to help you troubleshoot this issue, but will need some additional information.

Is the 301 redirect working? For example, when you go to Domain 1, does it redirect you to Domain 2 successfully?

What is the exact term you are searching for in Google?

Also, keep in mind Google provides different results for each user, so we may get different results.

Thank you,
John-Paul
