Hello, I'm new to web hosting and have been having issues with connecting to hosting.
I have a domain and hosting, have completed my website on server and followed all the instructions I could find on connecting using FTP and I have no idea what's going wrong. I have also tried to use Filezilla instead of the Dreamweaver FTP and still not connecting. When I try to connect to the server with Dreamweaver I get the following message: "An FTP error occurred - cannot make connection to host. The remote host cannot be found."
When trying to use Quickconnect in FileZilla I get "Error: Could not connect to server"

I have tried adding FileZilla as an accepted program with my firewall, I've checked all of my login details, I've checked "Use Passive FTP" in Dreamweaver, I'm not sure what else I can do.

I hope this makes sense as I'm a novice and not sure if I explained things properly! Any help would be extremely appreciated :)

Hello,

Thank you for contacting us about your Dreamweaver FTP errors. If you're having trouble connecting with FTP I suggest trying to connect with the server IP address as host, using your cPanel username and password and port 21.

I'll also link you to our FTP guide for alternate methods, but the above the connection method often gets the best results.

Best,
Christopher M.
