hello,

on the research for a free font for my book I found the Jacques Francois font I would like to use.
although I read and tried to understand the license I am not sure because I´m a second-language speaker.
I found Web Hosting Hub (webhostinghub.com) for the copyright so I´m writing you and hope that you can help me with my questions:

1) Am I allowed to use both of the Jaques Francois fonts in a commercial way (book printing) and its 100% free an without royalty claim?

2) Do you want me to quote you as the copyright owner and if yes, how should I do this?

Thank you very much for your help, I really appreciate it and would be glad if I could use this lovely font for my book.

Greetings,

B. G.

Hello Mary_Poppinsky,

Thanks for the question. First, we are a web hosting company, so copyright to a font would probably not be attributed to us. When I look up the font, I found some information here: Google Fonts: Jacques Francois that basically notes that the font is a SIL Open Font license(OFL) font. This means that the font is free - check out the link for details.

I hope that helps to answer both of your questions - or at least points you in the correct direction to find your answers. Please let us know if you have any further comments or questions.

Regards,
Arnel C.

hello Arnel C.,

yes, I was wondering why you (as in webhostinghub.com) were named in the license but this was the only contact I could find, so...

thanks for your answer anyway, if you as a native speaker say so, I suppose that there really is no royalty claimed for this font.
but I´ll check further on.

thank you!

best regards
