I am in the process of moving a site to webhostinghub. I have some major work to do on the site before I make the final move. However, we would like to go ahead and move the email to webhostinghub before we change the dns to the new server. What mx records should we use with our current host to make our emails go to webhostinghub?

Hello ssmith,

Thank you for your question regarding pointing your MX records to us. This can be accomplished quite easily.

First, you will want to create a subdomain, such as:

mail.domain.com (Replace domain.com with your actual domain name.)

Next, point the A record for this subdomain to your shared IP. Your shared IP can be viewed in your cPanel on the left, you may have to click expand stats.

Finally, point your MX record to the subdomain, for example:

0 mail.domain.com

Be sure to allow up to 24 hours for this update to propagate.

If you have any further questions, feel free to post them below.
Thank you,

-John-Paul
