<div>Could not connect to the database. Connector returned number: 2 Have checked SQL name &amp; passwords - all correct. Using localhost in Joomla install box. Username: using database username with root given to me via hub. Made username dbuser1 with all privilege access -- in this case userna5_dbuser1 (is this correct formatting? tried just dbuser1. no go). Password: used random generator so should be correct. Database Name: using this format: userna5_database1</div>

Hello kwilder,

I'm sorry you're having trouble with your manual installation of Joomla. While researching this for you, I found that your database users have not been assigned to any of your databases. In order to connect to the database, the user will first need to be assigned to the database you want to connect to. Please see steps 6 through 7 in our How to Create and Assign a User to a Database article for step-by-step instructions.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions or need further assistance.

Regards,

Christi N.
