I followed the instructions on this link
http://www.webhostinghub.com/support/website/joomla/install-joomla-25
but am stuck at step 7. I installed joomla to the subdirectory public_html/joomla but when I point my browser at http://mysite.com/joomla/installation I get a 404 error message. I'm a complete novice so it's probably a simple error. Please help.

Hello abikerider,

I'm sorry you're having trouble installing Joomla 2.5. While looking into this for you I see that your Joomla files are located in a subdirectory of public_html named Joomla. Please note, the server is case sensitive so, to the server, Joomla is not the same as joomla.

If you want to use Joomla for your entire site (and not a subdirectory) I would recommend using either an FTP programM or the cPanel File Manager to move all of the files and folders inside the Joomla subdirectory up to public_html. Once the files are moved you can then run the installation from http://yourdomain.com/installation.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions or need further assistance.

Regards,

Christi N.
