Slow page load times for basic website

My site (www.liberty2010.com) uses a Wordpress template and has a few pages. There are no huge graphics or video, but it takes over 20 seconds to load the main page (Firefox 18 browser), and I have had some people tell me they cannot access it.
I checked it with some optimization sites today and made some changes to caching and a couple of PHP files, using the W3 Total Cache plugin. I went from a B to an A for speed according to a test, but it still takes too long to load.
The plugin author suggested I check on the server side, so I am posting this question here. When I first had the site transferred here from another host, it loaded quickly. I moved partially due to slow page loads, so it troubles me to see the same thing happening here.

Hello RPS092112, I did a check on the server your account is hosted on. The load on the server is optimal, so it is not causing any issue. I also checked several other accounts and they all loaded with no delay. I even checked the other domain names on your same account and they loaded instantly. When testing on multiple computers, the site initially takes a time to load (10-20 seconds on average). However, once it loads, it reloads very quickly. Each page after the first also comes up fast. You may want to evaluate the plugins you are using. You can test them by disabling them one by one. Test the site by clearing the browser cache completely and re-visiting the website. I also checked a site optimization tool that gives two grades. One is an A and one is a D. The D grade cites that you need some image optimization and that your theme needs to have more efficient CSS. I know the theme is one of the default wordpress themes so I tested the same theme on my own site and received a very similar result. Best Regards, Scott M |
