Am I doing this correctly? I've uploaded my webpages that I designed to the cpanel. How do I publish the website? Do I need to use an FTP? Do I need to use a web design program like Joomla?

Hello Arakovsky,

How do I publish the website?
When uploading files to your public_html folder, you are actually publishing the site. I can see your site on the web now. Here is a link to help you understand which directory your files should be uploaded to.

Do I need to use an FTP?
Uploading via an FTP program accomplishes the same thing, just with a different program and interface. FTP programs are usually more efficient if you have a large number of files to upload, however. Here is our FTP Getting Started Guide.

Do I need to use a web design program like Joomla?
You do not need to use a program like Joomla to create your site, though those programs are readily available for anyone who would like to use them. Typically, switching over to a program like Joomla, WordPress, or Drupal would entail redesigning the site as they do not import existing sites very well.
