Using RAR with PHP
I'm doing a bit of work with archive formats with PHP. ZIP is fine, as it has native support and is well documented; however, it seems RAR requires an additional installation of a PECL extension, as referenced here:

Perhaps I'm missing an obvious alternative, but would this be the only means of accessing and manipulating RAR type archives with PHP? And if so, with it apparently not being installed or configured for use on these servers, would it be possible to request that the extension be installed in the near future?

Hello Skryn, Thank you for your questions abotu the RAR PECL module. While I'm not familiar with working with RAR files in PHP, that module looks to be the best way for working with those files in PHP. Our Tier II Team can install most PECL modules if they are not part of a PEAR package you can install yourself.
