We installed Postmaster SMTP to get the Contact Form 7 form to work. However, the Mailchimp extension is being blocked. This extension sends contact form data to the newsletter lists.

I have worked with the vendor and everything on their end and our setup is on the up and up.

I assume since SMTP is blocked and needs an additional plugin for setup that a similar protocol is being blocked. Please advise on how to get this working.

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues with your MailChimp extension. SMTP is not blocked on our servers. SMTP is required for contact forms to send out properly. WordPress does not use SMTP by default and that is why the additional plugin is required.

What makes you think the MailChimp plugin is being blocked specifically? What error messages are you getting? Please provide specific step-by-step instructions on how to duplicate the issue. Are there any specific settings you need or are looking for?

Kindest Regards,
Scott M

The debug file is why we KNOW it is not getting through - "[03/04/2017 4:09 AM] - STATUS : Contact Form 7 response: Mail sent OK | MailChimp.com response: "

Typically on other hosts like Hostgator or GoDaddy Contact Form 7 does not require an SMTP plugin. I have used this plugin numerous times without issue until now. The vendor has troubleshot the plugin, set it up on his own server using our settings and it works absolutely fine.

Hello,

Sorry for the issues with the MailChimp extension. I did take a look at your account and I reviewed 2 things. The Apache Web server error log. It shows possible errors with loading a shared object file and also a possible conflict with a modsec rule. I went into the cPanel for your account and turned off the ModSec rules there. I also updated your PHP Version to 5.6 using the cPanel option.

When I looked up information on the plugin I found two different documents that talk about verifying it. Which is something I don't see in your issue. Is Contact Form 7 required for the MailChimp extension? Just trying to clarify. Please provide us information when you can.

If you have any further questions or comments, please let us know.
