Fatal Error after Theme Update

After updating the twenty-fourteen theme to version 1.8 I receive the following error message:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function is_customize_preview() in /home/micha290/public_html/wp-content/themes/twentyfourteen/inc/widgets.php on line 40

Hello,

Thank you for your question about the "Call to undefined function" error. This usually indicates that a piece of code in the function file is missing critical data. You'll want to make sure that you were installing a verified version of twenty-fourteen downloaded directly from WordPress, unless it was a "child theme" developed by a third party.
