I installed my wordpress site on my temporary URL to test it. The home page worked fine and looked fine, but all the pages linked were directed back to my localhost on my computer. I called support and they sent me an article how to redirect the wordpress home and siteURL in the config file. Now all the pages are starting from the temporary URL, but all the styles and pictures have disappeared. The links function correctly though. Can anyone help me with what needs to be fixed? I am new to this, so I may be missing the obvious.

Hello Sterfest,

Sorry to hear about your problems with WordPress. Most likely, the problem is that your database does not have a uniform URL for all resources that are part of your WordPress website. My recommendation is that you export your WordPress database, then open the SQL file in a text editor like NOTEPAD, and do a find and replace. Find your old URL and replace it with the URL that you wish to use. That should fix the issues that you have with elements of the site not working. It's either that or reload the theme in its entirety. Be aware that if you're re-loading, it's possible to lose any customizations that you might have made.

I hope this helps to provide you the solution to your problem. If you still require assistance, please let us know!

Regards,

Arnel C.
