In testing the temporary url for a site that I'm moving and the majority of the site runs on wordpress, and when I updated the config.php to reflect the databases that I moved over but I do believe that I might have gotten the database server address incorrect or something. I'd appreciate any help!

Hello,

Thank you for your question about a database server address. By database server, do you mean hostname?

If the website, and database are on the same server you would use 'localhost' as the host name.

If the database is on a different server, you would put the domain name of the website that hosts the domain. Such as: 'example.com'

The database name, username, and password are setup in cPanel.

If you have any further questions, feel free to post them below.

Thank you,
John-Paul
