I'm currently getting this error message when I try to login to my WP dashboard (second time this has happened in past few months): "WordPress Login Temporarily Disabled

We apologize for the inconvenience! You are seeing this message because your site has recently been targeted by attackers attempting to gain access to your WordPress Dashboard. In order to protect your site your WordPress Login page has been temporarily disabled.

Unfortunately, you will be unable to login to the Dashboard until the block expires.

Have others experienced this and is it legit? If so, is there any action either I or webhostinghub can take to help speed things along? TIA for responses!

Hello Digitalwarriorpoet,

I'm sorry to here that you are seeing the message blocking access to your Admin dashboard. Note that this is a legitimate message. The problem is that there are still hackers out there attempting to hack into WordPress accounts using a brute force attack. When this happens, the security placed to prevent these attacks kicks in so that the attack does not damage or affect your website. It does unfortunately affect your login, but it will only normally last for about 15 minutes and then normal access is reverted. I was able to see your login page when I wrote this reply. Please review the link I have included for further information. If the problem does continue to re-occur, please contact our live technical support team as they can immediately resolve that error while you're on the phone.

If you require further assistance, please let us know!

I was afraid it was some sort of phishing scam. Thanks a million for the warp-speed response and useful info. Arnel!

Hello thisimran,

It doesn't appear like you are hosting with our service. You will want to contact your hosting service for assistance if you are unable to login to your admin. Different hosts have different rules to help with stopping brute force attacks.

If you have any further questions or comments, please let us know.

Regards,
Arnel C.
