There are times when you want to limit what a customer may see in terms of the available shipping providers.  Prestashop allows you to do this in the Administration panel.  The following tutorial will show you how to set group access for the available carriers.

Setting the Customer Groups for your Carriers in Prestashop 1.5

  1. Login to the Administration Panel as an Administrator
  2. Hover over the menu bar where it says SHIPPING, and then click on CARRIERS in the drop down menu. This will bring you to a list of the existing carriers
  3. Click on the green ADD NEW button or select the shipping company that you wish modify and select the EDIT icon on the far right side of the screen. Then go to the CARRIERS section and click on GROUP ACCESS as per below:

  4. Select the group or groups that will have access to the specific shipping carrier.  Remember that removing the check mark will make the carrier unavailable for that particular group
  5. Select the green SAVE button in top right hand corner in order to save your selection

Sometimes costs or other issues may lead you to not make a particular shipping company available to a group of your customers.  Prestashop allows you to quickly make assignments for the available carriers. However, show care when removing carriers from a customer group in order to avoid removing all possible carriers from a customer group.
