Addresses are important customer information for your Prestashop database.  They can be used for reports in addition to provide your store accurate iinformation to ship products to your customers.  The following tutorial shows how to manage customer addresses in PrestaShop 1.5.

Managing Customer Addresses in PrestaShop 1.5

  1. Login to the Administration Dashboard as the Administrator
  2. Go to the Menu Bar and hover over CUSTOMERS, then select ADDRESSES when it appears in the drop-down menu.  It will be the second item in the drop-down menu that appears. If you have customers already added, then you will see a list.

The required fields option (above), makes it possible to make parts of the address mandatory before it can be saved.  This is the screen with the fields that can be set:

Select the field or fields that you wish to make required and then select SAVE in order to proceed.
  3. Creating a new address requires that you select ADD NEW (from the top right hand corner), or if you wish to EDIT an address, select it from the list then click EDIT.  You will see a screen similar to the one below:

The fields with the red asterisk are required fields.  These must be filled in order to save the address.  All of the information above is typical address information with the exception of the IDENTIFICATION NUMBER.  This is an optional field depending on which region of the world your customer may live in. Or it may be a requirement for your customer base.  Only require it where it is needed. (For example, the DNI in Argentina is a National Identify Document).   It is not required to set the address above and can therefore be left blank.

  4. Once the address information is set, select SAVE in the to right hand corner to save your entries

Address information is seen by the customer only when looking at their account, or reviewing their invoices.  Customers are able to modify their address information through the store interface.  This information is important for shipping and customer information purposes.   Here's an example of where a customer can see their address information in the storefront:
