The option to add a time limit for a valid merchandise return is possible within Prestashop.  This can help to curb high return rates or at least help to reduce consumer behavior of buying to try a product and then returning it after using the product.  The following tutorial explains how to set a time limit for returns within PrestaShop 1.5.

Setting a Return Period in PrestaShop 1.5

  1. Login to the Administrator Dashboard as an Administrator
  2. Go to the menu bar and hover over ORDERS, then click on the third item  that appears in the drop-down menu, MERCHANDISE RETURNS.  Scroll down until you see the ENABLE RETURNS (RMA) OPTIONS:

NOTE:  The checkboxes to the left of each option are dependent upon the multi-shop option being active.  If all shops are selected, then boxes will not appear. If a single shop is active, then the box MUST be selected in order to activate the option.

Click on the checkbox to activate the TIME LIMIT OF VALIDITY.
  3. The TIME LIMIT OF VALDITY is the number of days that customer has to make a return of the product.  Set an appropriate time limit for your shop.
  4. Click on SAVE in the top right hand corner of the screen to save your entry.

Setting the TIME LIMIT OF VALIDITY will help to keep your returns restricted to your specified time.  Make sure to consider your client-base when determining the return time periods so that you properly accommodate the delivery times for the region in which they are affected.
