How do I get the hostname or ip address of my MySQL server?

Hello tfiero,

Thank you for your question about MySQL information. If you are installing software to the server that needs to connect to MySQL databases, the hostname will be localhost. We have step-by-step instructions for that in our article on Manual Installation of PHP Software.
