if I have changed the domain name for a site I am building, do I need to download another copy of wordpress and rebuild the site?

Hello LynneB,

Thank you for your question. You can use the same Wordpress, but you will need to update the URL in the settings. You can do this by locating your wp-config.php file, and adding the following lines to it:

define('WP_HOME','http://yourdomain.com');
define('WP_SITEURL','http://yourdomain.com');

Be sure to replace yourdomain.com with your actual domain name.

I also recommend this helpful article regarding "WordPress Configuration updates after a Server Move," which goes over some typical updates if you are changing folders.
