The timeouts appear to be due to a connectivity issue with our West Coast Datacenter. Something was preventing connection to that area. that has since been resolved and everything should be flowing normally. Any emails that were sent during that time would either sit and try again for a while until successful or be sent back the sender. We do apologize for any downtime that occurred yesterday.
