I want to set up a 'catchall' email account (e.g. 'junk@domain.com') which will capture all email that is not delivered to one of the valid email accounts in my domain. For example, an email sent to joe@domain.com will be delivered to Joe, but an email sent to joe123@domain.com will get routed to junk@domain.com since joe123@domain.com is not a valid email account.

Thanks.

Hello promentis,

I will be happy to answer your question. On Web Hosting Hub servers, for security reasons the ability to create a Catch-All Address email address is disabled. The reason it is disabled is that with catchall addresses, there is a serious risk for the server to be flooded with spam. Spammers can email any email address @domain.com, and the email will still go through, which can cause a serious backlog on the server if thousands of spam emails (across all accounts) are coming in every few hours. While I definitely understand the benefits of a Catch-All or Default Email Address, the overall health of the server is our number one priority to ensure that service is not slowed down or interrupted for any of our customers.

If you know any common misspellings or addresses your customers may use, you can create an email forwarder even if have not created the email account. For example you can add a forwarder to send admin@domain.com to junk@domain.com without creating admin@domain.com in your Email Accounts section. Since there is no limit to the number of email forwarders you can have, you can create as many as you need to. While it is not the same as a Catch-All Address it does offer you some flexibility.
