Trouble installing WordPress - domain redirection error

At one time I had the domain name "tonysuess.com" redirecting to "apsuess.com." I've removed the redirect through the cPanel, and all indications there do no show "tonysuess.com" as redirecting any longer.

However, when trying to install Wordpress on "tonysuess.com" the Factistico installation fails indicating that only one application can be installed per directory. When I attempt to install wordpress manually, it also fails with the error message "Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete."

It then appears that despite the domain redirect being disabled for "tonysuess.com" it remains enabled in the server configuration.

Please help me resolve this issue by removing any redirect for "tonysuess.com" that may be behind my cPanel and unavailable to me.

Tony

Hello Tony,

I'm sorry you're having trouble removing the redirect for tonysuess.com and installing WordPress. While researching this for you, I found that the .htaccess file inside your public_html directory is causing the redirect issue. To determine this, I renamed the .htaccess file inside public_html and was then able to open tonysuess.com in my browser. Please keep in mind that .htaccess files are recursive. This means that an .htaccess file in public_html can affect site files in subdirectories of public_html as well (like tonysuess.com).

Please let us know if you have any additional questions or need further assistance.

Regards,

Christi N.
