I just created a website so people could find out about my buisness if they heard the name. I am not in the phone book yet and I thought if i started a website people would be able to search my business name and find it. The problem is I can't even find my website using the search method I have to already know what the wbsite address is and type it in. I did a search on my business name and flipped through the first 20 pages and still no sign of it. Is there anything i can do to make it easier to find?
Thanks

Hello jcody,

I'm sorry you're having trouble getting your site to show up in search engine results.

I'm not sure which search engine you may be using, but since Google is the most popular, I did a quick check to see if your site has been indexed by Google. You can do this by typing site:yourdomain.com in Google search (replace yourdomain.com with your actual domain name). I found that currently two of your site's pages are indexed by Google.

Search engine optimization can be a challenge and can depend on such things as location (for inclusion in local search results) and competitiveness of your keywords (how many other people are trying to rank for the same keywords).

We have some articles which will help you understand a bit more about search engine optimization and including your site in search results:

I would also suggest setting up a Google Webmaster Tools account for your site so you can analyze your site's traffic and even share information with Google about your site.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions or need further assistance.

Regards,

Christi N.
