How to protect images I will be listing from being right clicked on and then copied. Is there a way to watermark them or other system? Or perhaps this has to be done before you upload?

Hello jabultema,

Thank you for your question about protecting images. While there are various methods for preventing right clicking (Flash, JavaScript, etc.) even those methods can't prevent someone from taking a screen shot. Adding a watermark to an image is probably the most recommended solution, but keep in mind that someone who has enough time and patience to retouch the photo might even be able to get around that. In short, there is no 100% fool proof method, the best you can do is deter most people.

How to add a watermark to an image will depend on what image editing software you use. There are also online services and programs specifically for adding watermarks. I would recommend doing a search in your preferred search engine for watermark images in whatever image editing software you use. For instance, if you're using GIMP, you could search for watermark images GIMP. If you want to find one of the online tools or watermarking applications, just search for watermark images.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions or need further assistance.

Regards,

Christi N.
