Moodle DML exceptions

Hi, I installed Moodle a while ago, and it worked fine. Then, I wanted to use it in Japanese also, since some of my students are Japanese, so I installed the Japanese language pack. It showed all the page in Japanese, no problems there.

The problem is when I try to use Japanese to input text, in a BBS, message, or wiki, whatever. I get this error:

error/moodle/dmlwriteexception
This indicates that a general error occurred when Moodle tried to write to the database.

I asked customer support, but the guy did not know much about Moodle so could not help me.

Is there anyone who knows Moodle who might be able to help me on this?

Sorry for the trouble with the Japanese inputs in your Moodle. Its possible the php.ini needs to have the encoding set to UTF-8. We updated the following lines to UTF-8 in your php.ini.

mbstring.internal_encoding = UTF-8
mbstring.http_input = UTF-8

Another thing you can try doing is re-installing the Language pack. Its possible that the plugin did not install correctly.

If this does not work, try running a repair on the database in your cpanel > MySQL databases. Please see our tutorial on How to Check and Repair a MySQL Database.
