Hi I tried to do a domain transfer for 2ndstorymedia.com and I got "Domain is expired and must be renewed with the current registrar before transferring". Am I doing the right thing here? I am trying to transfer the website to your servers.

Hello Lawren,

Websites consist of a domain name and the website files that are hosted at the hosting server. The hosting service typically requires that you have a contract or agreement with a host so that your files can be served from that location. Depending on your domain registrar and your hosting service - these may at times be 2 entirely different companies.

The message you're getting is indicating that our system is detecting your domain as having been expired with your domain registrar. This means you have to contact the organization from who you registered the domain before you can transfer it. It might not be expired, as well. They typically give you an authorization code in order to transfer it -the code CAN expire, so that might be the problem. In either case, you will need to contact and verify that your domain is in good standing and can be transferred. Read through both articles below to get the information you need to move your website to our hosting service:
