I want to create a website that my students will be able to access so that they may download various documents. I started with WordPress because it was recommended to do so, but I'm not interested in blogging. Did I chose wrong? Should I have chosen another website tool? Are there any good books on how to use WordPress to do what I want?

Hi RonHarrow,

Thank you for your question on offering download files for your students. WordPress is quite flexible, so you should definitely be able to do this. It's not just for blogging anymore. A plugin like WordPress Download Monitor should make this easier to manage. It will even allow you to restrict who can download files (members only). If you would like step-by-step instructions for how to install WordPress plugins, please see our article Searching for and Installing WordPress Plugins.

Please let us know if you have any questions or need further assistance.

Regards,

Christi N.
