I am attempting to publish to a temporary URL from iWeb. Apparently I entered the correct settings, because I was told publishing would "continue in the background." Either it's still working or has frozen because the "Publish Site" button is grayed out. But it has been about an hour. Does this seem right?

Hello mamomi,

I'm sorry you're having trouble publishing your site from iWeb. While looking into this for you I found multiple authentication failed error messages in the FTP logs. This means that either the username or password is incorrect in your iWeb settings. If you are not receiving an error in iWeb, I would recommend restarting the program and then checking the publishing settings per the instructions outlined in our article on publishing from iWeb. Those settings use your cPanel password. If you are having any trouble remembering your cPanel password, please see our article How to reset your cPanel password from within AMP.

Also, if you are simply publishing updates from iWeb, we recommend you use the Publish site changes button instead of publishing the entire site again.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions or need further assistance.

Regards,

Christi N.
