Why can't I see my home page on my WordPress site?

I can't pull up my home page at all, either by typing the site name in (http://themuseinwoodenshoes.com) or by using my link shortcut, or by starting with a post I found via Google search and then trying to reach the home page from there.

What happens when trying to navigate to my home page (I can actually get to my dashboard, all other pages and posts, etc.) is that Internet Explorer attempts to get there, with that little progress bar loading veeeerrrry slowly, and then reverts to whatever page I was on before.

Hello Mals86,

I'm sorry you're having trouble with your WordPress site. While researching this for you I found that you have the redirection plugin installed. I also see that other users have had similar issues. I renamed the redirection plugin folder to redirection_bk and your site is loading correctly now. I would recommend either leaving the plugin disabled, checking the plugin settings.

One other suggestion I found was related to changing your Permalink settings after setting up the redirection plugin. If you have changed your Permalink settings (after setting up the redirection plugin):

  1. Delete any redriects created with the redirection plugin

  2. Change your Permalinks to something other than their current settings & save the new settings

  3. Change Permalinks back and save again

  4. Create your redirects using the plugin
