I'm not 100% if Zend will work on a temporary URL. I did some research, and it appears someone else may be having a similar problem with Zend and temporary URLs, and created a redirect to get around it:
Run Zend Framework with a temporary URL
Still, that question / answer seems a bit vague. But, to get zend working on a temp url, you may need a .htaccess file.
If you want to be more accurate with your testing, I recommend using a hosts file modification. There are certain applications in which the temporary URL will just not work, and a hosts file mod will help you work around this. It is also a very accurate way of testing because you can use your actual domain name, just as if the site / domain was live.
