Hello David, Thank you for your question regarding setting up your site and WordPress site. If I understand your question correctly, what you want to do is start off with WordPress, but eventually use something else for the main part of your site and have a separate area for WordPress as your blog. Before we get into how to do that, did you know you can use WordPress for your entire site, not just for blogging? By creating Pages inside of WordPress you can add information that is traditionally found on static sites (e.g. Contact, About, Services, etc.). You can build pretty much Running WordPress from a Subdomain or Subdirectory. In the future, when you're ready to switch WordPress back to it's own subdomain or subdirectory, simply reverse those instructions. Then, in the main part of your site, simply add a link to the subdirectory or subdomain where you have WordPress installed. Please let us know if you have any additional questions or need further assistance. Regards, Christi N. |
