I purchased a wordpress theme from a site outside of wordpress and tried using Filezilla to install the new theme without success. I continue getting connection error messages and have essentially spent the entire day trying to figure this out. Can anyone help me?

Hello hqmagnolia,

I'm sorry you're having trouble connecting with FileZilla. I see that you currently have two accounts with us. While researching this for you I noticed that one of your domains is not currently pointed to us. You can check where each of your domains is pointing by using our Visual Domain Lookup Tool.

If the account you want to upload files for is the domain not pointed to us, please use your Server Name (Hostname in your Technical Details) as your FTP host and please make sure you have made the necessary changes for WordPress to work through your Temporary URL.

If the above information does not resolve the issue, we will need some information that we wouldn't want you to provide in a public area such as this. If further assistance is needed, please feel free to contact our Support Department with the following information:

  1. Username or domain name of the account you are trying to connect to.

  2. The host, username and password you are using in FileZilla

  3. Your IP address

Please let us know if you have any additional questions or need further assistance.

Regards,

Christi N.
