I am going in circles. I have paid for domain and web hosting and read every get started link. When I click on "create a website" I get taken to the 'pay' and registration page, which I have already done. I have installed wordpress and logged into cpanel and set up webmail... Any help appreciated.

Hello SandyC,

Sorry to hear you're that you're having issues getting started. Let's see if we can get you pointed in the right direction. To get terminology sorted out, let's talk about what you have so far. You purchased a subscription for web hosting and you also paid for a domain name. The Web Hosting includes the web server and the software you're using to get to the web server so that you can create a web page with whatever tool you have chosen. The domain name is the site URL - note that newly registered domain names are not available until up to 24 hours after they are registered (this is called propagation time). Your chosen tool to CREATE the website appears to be WORDPRESS. Cpanel is the interface software to interact directly with your web server so that you can get to files and manage databases or email (as you have already done).

So, hopefully that summarizes where you stand. What to do next? In order to create the website with your chosen tool - Wordpress- you need to log-in to Wordpress and begin to use it. The main problem at this point is that Wordpress is URL-centric - meaning it requires the USE of the domain name you have loaded it with. So, the main problem is that since your domain is probably still propagating, you can't load up Wordpress yet- even though you just installed it! Frustrating, BUT you can get around this if you don't want to wait. Just be warned that it can be a hassle. Changing it will be up to you. If you give it 24 hours, then no manual changes are needed. I'll give you a couple of articles that can help you get around the issue of the domain name.

To get into Wordpress, the typical route is http://domainname.com/wp-admin. You will need to login with the user name and password you designated with the installation. If you don't remember them, you may to want to uninstall and re-install, or you can all into live support and they can help recover that for you.

When you finally get into Wordpress, then you can start building the website. Here is our educational channel link for starting up Wordpress:
