How do I link gallery images to other Posts in WordPress?

I have a post with a gallery of designs. They are in a slideshow or scroll gallery. Within that post, I need for viewers to simply click there and go to individual posts with details on each one of the designs. Could someone give me an order to follow?

Hi Chiefcliff,

Thank you for your question on linking your gallery images to other Posts in your WordPress site. I did quite a bit of research into this and it appears others are having trouble linking their gallery images to specific Posts in WordPress. I did find a work around that uses the NextGEN Custom Fields plugin. Once you have installed that plugin, you can follow the instructions outlined here to make it possible to link images to Posts (or any other URL):
