Is my URL correct?

From my Wordpress installation confirmation email:

A new installation of WordPress 3.5.1 has been completed. The details of the installation are shown below:
URL : http://soundstreet.us/dir
Admin URL : http://soundstreet.us/dir/wp-admin/

Does "/dir" at the end of the URL just indicate the directory where the files are installed or is it saying that is the website address? I don't want the URL which people use to access the site to include "/dir". Do I need to edit this in the Wordpress dashboard?

Hello soundstreet,

Thank you for your question. The /dir at the end of the domain name is the directory you installed wordpress in, and the web address. To install on the root of a domain (http://soundstreet.us) using Softaculous, leave the "In Directory" option blank.

You can also move Wordpress directly to the public_html folder.
