Hi - I overwrote a wp-config.php file, and couldn't find my password. So I created a new user for the database, and used that info for the file. Instead of getting my blog back, I got a new, empty blog. Is there a way to recreate the config file?

Hello kkris,

The config file only points to a database, it has nothing to do with what actually displays on the screen. That all comes from the database itself. The action you took, creating a new user, was a correct method of reconnecting a wp-config file to a database. That, or either deleting and recreating the original user. Either way, the results are the same.

I pulled the data out of the database for that installation and it only has the default information in that database. If there was any data there previously, it has been replaced with a default database.

I did note there were three other databases but confirmed they are all connected to the other three WordPress installations in your account.

Best Regards,
Scott M
