The Contao CMS is a full-featured CMS that requires the administrator of the software to login to the back end interface using  a login and password.  The back end modules allow the administrator to make content changes, layout changes, provide account management and access to systems settings and developer tools.  It is therefore important to keep the password and user name secure in order to keep the software from being maliciously attacked.  Follow good security practices by regularly changing the password to keep user data or other intellectual property out of the wrong hands.  The following article quickly guides you in logging into the Back End modules for Contao.

Logging in to the Contao Back-end

  1. In an internet browser, type in the back end URL for Contao.  This is typically the domain/contao.  For example:  http://contaosamplesite.com/contao/. You will see the following screen for the Back-end login:

    contao-login-final

  2. Type in the user name for the administrator and the corresponding password.  Change the language if necessary.  Click on LOGIN once the user name and password have been entered.

A successful login will lead to the back-end modules which will appear as follows:
    login-screen-appearance

If you are unable to login, you will see a LOGIN FAILED message on the login screen.
