This tutorial will guide you through changing the default number of items that are shown in the catalog view the for the administrator dashboard in OpenCart 1.5. This settings option is not to be confused with the default number of items that can be seen in the catalog on the storefront. 

How to Change the Default number of Items in Administrator Catalog View

1. Login to the Administration Dashboard as an Administrator

 

2. Hover over the menu bar where it says SYSTEM and then click on SETTINGS in the drop-down menu

 

3. Select the STORE that you wish to edit and then click on EDIT on the far right to proceed

 

4. Click on the TAB that says OPTION and scroll down until you see the following screen (highlighted below):
   
   
   
   
   
5. Change the default number of items to a value that you want
6. Select SAVE in the top right hand corner of the screen to save the value that you have selected

You can see the effect of the value selected by going back into the Administrator Dashboard and selecting Catalog- Products.  Here's a screenshot with the number of items highlighted at the bottom right-hand corner of the page:
