Prestashop has taken yet another step closer to final release of its newest and greatest version of the PrestaShop 1.5 release.  Currently, the 1.5 release is still considered to NOT be officially released, but as per the "RC" label, it is very close to finishing up the version. The following article summarizes the expected new features and gives a sneak peek into the next release based on the installations.

PrestaShop 1.515 Release Candidate 2

    Installation of this version occured with out error (unlike my last installation).  The option to select store type and addition of sample data occurred with no problems.  Here is a short list of the upcoming 1.5 features:


    Multistore management - allows the management of multiple stores using the one administration interface.  The screenshot below shows the new Multishop configuration interface.

    New Modules API -  The application programming interface (API) for the modules has been updated so as to allow better management of modules.  Version management of the API's show the

    Cart Pricing Rules - change the way you price your products in your cart for any merchant.  Easily provide discounts  and make promotions that your customer can easily access.

    Place or modify orders from the Backoffice - use the Administration interface to take orders directly from a customer over the phone or in person.
