Your product inventory can consist  of a typical product, a pack of products, or a virtual product. When you're adding a product to your store, one of the first things you'll need to do is select which of these types of products it is that you're adding. The following Prestashop 1.5 tutorial will give you an introduction to choosing a product type, and will provide links to additional tutorials for each product type.

Managing a product's type in Prestashop 1.5:

1. Login to the Prestashop 1.5 Administration Panel as an Administrator
   
2. Go to  CATALOG in the menu bar hover over it until the drop-menu appears. Select PRODUCTS when it appears
3. If an existing inventory appears, select the item you wish to edit, otherwise select the green ADD NEW button.  The section that will appear is under Informations> PRODUCT GLOBAL INFORMATION
   
   
   
   
   
4. By default, the TYPE is set to PRODUCT.  However, change it to what is required depending on your product type.  Select either product, pack, or virtual product by clicking on the radial button. After selecting the type of product, you will see additional options on the screen. Keep reading further down this tutorial to learn more.

Product Types

If you select PRODUCT, you will see the following options appear:

1. Name
2. Reference
3. EAN13 or JAN
4. UPC

Pack Types

The menus in the lefthand column will not change when PRODUCT is selected, however when you select PACK, you will see the screen change focus to the Pack menu option (which will automatically be added as an item in the left menu).

In this area, use the tools to designate what products will belong to this PACK. After finding a product, click the Add this product to pack button.

Virtual Product Types

You will also see a different screen when you select VIRTUAL PRODUCT:
