Creating links in a website is very important, as it will allow your visitors to navigate to different parts of your website.  In this section we will just go over the basics.  The tag to make a text into a link is:

• <a href="/support/___">Text that will be a link</a>

The "a href" attribute is an unusual one, as while most codes use words that are easy to remember (align, color, img, etc.), href is a foreign tag to anyone that has not designed a website before.  It is a good one to write down somewhere until you have used it enough to remember it. Using the code above as an example, we will create a link to a different page.  In this example, we want the text to go to nextpage.html:

• <a href="/support/nextpage.html">Text that will be a link</a>

Now if someone clicks on the "Text that will be a link" text, it will direct them to "nextpage.html."  But if we want to change the text we can do that as well:

• <a href="/support/nextpage.html">Click here to go to my next page</a>

Don't forget whenever you make a hyperlink, to put </a> where you want the link to end.  If this is not put in the page, then the hyperlink will go on forever and make all other text on your page a hyperlink.
