Having a photo gallery or a slideshow on your website is a great way to share pictures with your visitors.  WordPress has a number of plugins that will simplify the process for you, below we have listed the most popular ones:

NextGen Gallery - With over 3 million downloads, this is one of the most popular photo gallery plugins.  It allows you to create your own custom templates and easily move pictures from one gallery to another gallery.

1 Flash Gallery - 1 Flash Gallery is a regularly updated plugin that allows you to create a photo gallery with an optional slideshow function.  You can sort the images in any order that you want, and can even make the images full screen if you take high resolution pictures.

Lightbox Gallery - Lightbox offers a different look then NextGen while maintaining many of the same features.  Also, Lightbox's instructions have been translated into more then a dozen languages, so that if English is not your first language you can still receive a full guide for using the plugin.

Each one of the links above goes directly to the plugin's official page on the WordPress.org website so you can see screen shots of the galleries as well as other information.  To install one of the plugins, you can automatically add them to your WordPress site by searching for the plugin in your Dashboard.  Please read our article on installing a WordPress plugin if you need any additional information.
