If you ever change your domain name, you amy notice that some of the pages and posts still try and show your old domain name. This is because the Site URL needs to be changed in the General settings. Follow along below as we demonstrate how to change your URL in the admin dashboard.

How to change your site URL in the WordPress admin

  1. First, log into your WordPress admin dashboard.
  2. general menu selectionOnce in the admin dashboard, you will see a menu on the left hand site. Hover over the Settings option, then click on the General tag.
     
  3. change data in fieldsThis will bring up the General Settings page. Locate the WordPress Address (URL) and Site Address (URL)fields. These are the ones you will enter your new domain name into.
     
  4. After entering the new domain name in the fields, scroll down the screen and click on the Save Changes button at the bottom.

Now, when you visit the site, the pages and posts that displayed your old domain name will now show your new domain name.
