The previous guide in our Getting started in Zen Cart Education series covered creating a new category. In this tutorial we will walk you through removing a Product or Category in Zen Cart. At times you may need to delete a product, for example you may no longer carry a specific item and want it removed from your list. This can easily be accomplished from the Administration panel of Zen Cart.

Removing a Products / Categories:

1. Login to the Zen Cart Admin Panel.
2. Roll your mouse over the Catalog option in the menu, and select the Categories/Products option.
3. If you want to remove a subcategory or product within a category, click the name of the category to open and view the subcategories and products in the folder. To delete a Category or product, click the red 'X' to the right of it in the list.
   
4. You will see a notification stating "Are you sure you want to delete this category?" if you are deleting a product the message will ask "Are you sure you want to permanently delete this product?" Click the Delete button below to confirm you want it removed.
   
   Congratulations, now you know how to remove a Product or Category from your Zen Cart Administration panel!
