Email filters can be used to send certain messages to a different folder, or to filter out spam messages.  You can create email filters by logging into your account webmail.  First, log into your webmail. make sure that the proper email address is showing and then click on the "Email Filtering" option at the bottom of the screen:

This will display the Edit Filters page.  To set up a new filter, click on "Create a new Filter":

Now you can create your filter.  Note that you can filter by From, To, Subject, and many other options.

Once you have made the filter, click on "Activate."  The new filter is now created.
