If you want to check your email right on your current browser without configuring any additional software, then webmail is the right thing for you. With Webmail you can use your email from any computer with Internet access and is a great option if you are on vacation or on a business trip to still have access to your mail at all times.

Accessing your Webmail

To access your webmail, first visit http://yourdomain.com/webmail (replacing yourdomain.com with your own domain name).  The screen will ask for your username and password. Make sure that you use your full email address ( This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for example) as the username and the password for your email account to log in.  If you have forgotten your email password, it can be changed in your cPanel in the Email Accounts section.

Using the Webmail Applications

After logging in there are three webmail applications available:

  • Horde
  • SquirrelMail
  • RoundCube

All three webmail applications will allow you to send and receive email, however they do have different designs and features.  SquirrelMail for example is the most basic and is recommended as a good place to start. Each time you log into webmail you can use a different webmail application, so take a look at each one to find which best suits your needs.

AutoLoad

Webmail includes an AutoLoad option.  When AutoLoad is enabled, each time you log into webmail instead of choosing which webmail application you want to use, the one you have chosen to AutoLoad will load automatically.  This is a great feature if you use the same webmail client each time you log in as it cuts out one of the steps.  AutoLoad can be enabled by selecting the "Enable AutoLoad" option under the Webmail application that you want to load automatically.  AutoLoad can be disabled at any time by hitting "Stop" when you first log into webmail and clicking "Disable AutoLoad."
