You can set up Outlook 2002 to send and receive email from your email hosted at Web Hosting Hub.

First, log into your Outlook 2002.  Once you have opened up the application, we will add a new account:

  1. Click on Tools in your Toolbar, and then "Account Settings".
  2. On the next screen, select "Add new e-mail account" and click "Next".
  3. Now you can select the type of email account you are setting up, POP3 or IMAP.  The main difference is that if POP3 is selected, all your emails when checked through Outlook will be downloaded to your computer and removed from the server.  With IMAP, the emails will remain on the server at all times.  Once you have made your selection, click "Next".

Now you will fill in your User Information:

  • Your Name: Insert your full name here, as this is the name that will show when you send email
  • E-mail Address: Put in your full email address, for example This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Next is your Server Information:

  • Incoming Mail Server: If your domain is pointed to Web Hosting Hub, the incoming mail server will be mail.yourdomain.com.  For example, mail.whhsupport.com would be the mail server for whhsupport.com.
  • Outgoing Mail Server: This will be the same as your Incoming Mail Server, mail.yourdomain.html.

Finally, you will fill in your Login Information:

Once you have filled in the information, click on the "More Settings..." button on the right as we need to change a few more settings.

  • Outgoing Server Tab: On the outgoing Server Tab, make sure that "My outgoing server requires authentication" is checked, as well as "Use same settings as my incoming mail server"
  • Advanced Tab: By default you do not need to change anything here, however if you are having trouble sending email then you can change the outgoing port.  This is also where you can change your settings to connect via SSL.  We discuss these changes in other articles in the Knowledge Database.

Click "OK" to go back to the Account Settings screen, and then click on "Next."  Congratulations, you have added your email account to Outlook 2002!

I'm sorry you're having trouble setting up your email. In your email client, your username should be the full email address. For example, if I am setting up Thunderbird for admin@webhostinghub.com, I would enter admin@webhostinghub.com as my username in Thunderbird.

Please give me the option of deciding this for myself. I'll even click on a 'yes, I know what I'm doing' button for you.

Oh, and forwarders only work if I set up email accounts for every possible address. That's useless to me, so why suggest it?

When setting up forwarders, you do not have to create email accounts for the email addresses you wish to forward from. For instance, if I wanted to forward info@mydomain.com to admin@mydomain.com, only the admin@mydomain.com email account has to be created as an email account.

I was able to configure Thunderbird for my domain, but am having trouble with creating the mail client for my sub domain. Is there something different I need to do? For example, my domain is discoverelcastillo.com and my sub domain is lagavilana.discoverelcastillo.com. I used mail.discoverelcastillo.com for the incoming and outgoing mail servers and everything worked fine, but for some reason it is not working with my sub domain mail.lagavilana.discoverelcastillo.com. Is there something I am doing wrong?

i have a question about configuring Thunderbird, which the "How to Setup Email on Thunderbird" article does not address. I have two different sites, one is my main site and the second is an Addon, that I need email accounts with. The info given to me when I create these email accounts is:

Outgoing Mail Server: mail.wildbluepixel.com (server requires authentication) port 587
Outgoing Mail Server: mail.susantaunton.com (server requires authentication) port 587

But Thunderbird only allows the assignment of a single outgoing server for all Thunderbird email accounts.

Do I choose one or is there a different solution?

Hello Susantau,

I also use Thunderbird here at work. Each account that you create in Thunderbird allows you to create a Outgoing server for EACH account. Here's a screenshot showing you the 3 that I have setup:

You can find this in ACCOUNT SETTINGS - OUTGOING SERVERS at the bottom of the screen.

Thanks, Arnel! I was checking out how this works, and it looks like you are correct, but then i looked further to see that the SSL outgoing server is the same for both my websites - so that solves it right there. Thanks again!
