On December 6, 2011 Adobe issued a security advisory for Adobe Reader X and Adobe Acrobat X and earlier versions across all platforms. The vulnerability can cause a crash and can potentially allow an attacker to hijack a system. Through this type of hijack, an attacker could potentially gain access to various passwords (including but not limited to cPanel, FTP, and email).

We have seen these types of vulnerabilities in Adobe software exploited in the past to compromise various account passwords.
